Our method of self-defense instruction was developed to insure that students could defend themselves against a real attack. Regardless of your experience or physical condition, Ocala BJJ will teach you how to use your leverage and body mechanics to defend yourself successfully against your aggressor.



A clear indicator of the effectiveness and practicality of the BJJ system of self-defense is that law enforcement agencies and military combat units all over the globe have selected Jiu-Jitsu to be the hand-to-hand combat choice for their training.



At Ocala BJJ, you will learn how to easily and effectively address the most common forms of street aggression without having to be flexible, fast, strong, tall, or muscular. The techniques and unique teaching method used in our facility have been perfected by Helio Gracie over a span of 80 years. The result is a system of self-defense that's both effective and humane.


PROFESSOR DUSTIN DENES-

Dustin "Clean" Denes is a Black Belt 3rd degree in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, professional fighter and world-class competitor. He is best known for his accomplished submission skills. Dustin's knowledge is both battle tested and backed by teachings of the Club Carlson Gracie and Ricardo de la Riva.
In 1999, Dustin traveled Brazil with his great friend and mentor Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira. He then moved to Rio de Janeiro to maximize his progress in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He spent more than two years as a brown belt with the Brazilian Top Team, competing against and beating the best in Brazil. He became Brazilian Champion in 2000 and achieved the rank of Black Belt in the fall of 2001.
After a professional mixed martial arts debut in Japan, Dustin returned to the United States and accepted an opportunity to be part of a new team. He chose to compete and strive for success in mixed martial arts for years to come. Dustin played a major role in the founding and first generation of the American Top Team.
Dustin achieved a BS in Marketing from Florida State University and an International MBA from Florida International University. He is also fluent in Portuguese. His goal is to further excel in the world of martial arts, and to transmit his knowledge of martial arts through his teachings.
